Founded by Nigo in Tokyo in 1993, A Bathing Ape is one of the first and arguably the most iconic Japanese streetwear brands. Taking its name and themes from the original Planet of the Apes films, and guided by founder Nigo's pitch-perfect pop-art interpretation of underground scenes, the brand's cult status has only grown over the years. Today, the brand continues to refine pieces such as its iconic camouflage patterns, shark graphics and BAPE STA sneakers.
